The Cleaning Coalition of America recently conducted a survey regarding worker feelings about workplace cleanliness in the context of returning to the office. As we continue to navigate the pandemic, employees across the country are pushing for frequent, thorough cleaning in the workplace to combat the potential contraction and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Survey results indicated that 89.9% of respondents deemed workplace cleaning protocols vitally important in allowing them to feel safe when returning to the office, while 77.2% of respondents believing their workplaces should be cleaned at least one a day.
Within the survey, an overwhelming majority of respondents indicated that seeing professional cleaners in the workplace would give them peace of mind when in the office. In addition, 47.1% cited regular disinfecting is the most important step in efforts to keeping employees safe.
Despite there being an increased openness to returning to the office, the survey revealed a hesitancy that still exists among working professionals. Over 40% of respondents indicated that they believe returning to the workplace still poses a threat to their health and safety.
While the pandemic still introduces new challenges, it is the hope among employees that cleaning can be prioritized as we approach spending more time in the office.
