Our Founding Story
March 1965, more than 60 charter members came to Washington, D.C., for the first Annual Meeting officially forming the National Association of Building Service Contractors organization. This organization would eventually evolve into the Building Service Contractors Association International. Since that time, the building service contracting industry has grown and changed rapidly.
Over the past 60 years, BSCAI has been dedicated to the advancement and growth of contract cleaning companies, representing a worldwide network of more than 1,000 member companies from across the United States and 15 countries worldwide.
What is a building service contractor?
Building service contractors (BSC) are companies engaged in providing services within and surrounding buildings and residences on a contract basis. This includes janitorial cleaning, maintenance, grounds keeping and other services in buildings, warehouses, health care facilities, schools, residences or any other type of building on a contract or outsourced basis.
